EMDR Therapy
in New York

_edited.jpg

Feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing’s working?

If you’ve done therapy before (and every coping skill under the sun) but still feel stuck, you’re not alone. Maybe your body is sounding the alarm through chronic tension, GI issues, or lingering fatigue. Or maybe your mind keeps looping through the same anxious or self-critical thoughts, no matter how much “work” you’ve done.

Before you accept this as your baseline, consider EMDR.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people move beyond talk therapy blocks and find lasting relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. It’s designed to help your brain and body process stuck experiences, so you can finally let go of what’s holding you back—and start moving forward.EMDR offers breakthroughs not just mentally and emotionally, but physically.

Clients often report feeling more grounded, less reactive, and more in control after just a few sessions. It can help clear the mental clutter, quiet the inner critic, and ease physical symptoms tied to stress and trauma.

"I know it happened, but it adoesn't bother me in the same way anymore."

EMDR IS NOT JUST FOR PTSD

While EMDR was originally developed to treat single-incident trauma (like car accidents), it’s now widely used to treat a range of challenges, including

  • Complex trauma (C-PTSD),

  • Depression

  • Anxiety (including panic attacks, phobias, and social or performance anxiety)

  • Low self-esteem and perfectionism

  • Addictions and compulsions

  • Anger and emotional regulation

  • History of abuse or neglect

  • Vicarious trauma (for caregivers, therapists, and first responders)

  • Medical or birth trauma

EMDR INTENSIVES

Types of EMDR

WEEKLY 45-MINUTE SESSIONS
I

A focused format for those who want to incorporate EMDR into ongoing weekly therapy at a slower, more manageable pace. *This is the most common type of EMDR and is typically reimbursed by insurance.

II
WEEKLY 90-MINUTE SESSIONS

These extended sessions allow for more time to explore and complete EMDR targets without feeling rushed. And provides more time for grounding before leaving the therapy room.

III
INTENSIVES

A structured, accelerated option for those ready to address trauma in a condensed time frame—perfect for single-incident trauma or busy professionals who need flexibility. SEE BELOW

Our HALF-DAY EMDR INTENSIVES help you identify and reprocess memories that may be at the core of anxiety, negative beliefs about yourself, body image concerns, or relationship challenges.

Research indicates that EMDR intensives can be equally - and sometimes more - effective than weekly sessions in reducing symptoms of PTSD and anxiety.
